Congressman Ebon Ingersoll of Peoria is the first known Member of Congress to serve as President of the Illinois State Society of Washington, DC when it was known as the Illinois State Association. He served as president from 1871 to 1872.

Ebersoll was born in 1831 and died in 1879. He was elected to Congress represent the central Illinois' 5th District in the United States House of Representatives, and he served from 1864 to 1871. He also served as a Member of the Illinois State Legislature.
