Capt. William Meredith

Captain William M. Meredith of Chicago was President of the Illionois State Association (early name for the Illinois State Society) from 1892 to 1893. He was very popular with the Illinois Congrressional delegation and other Illinoisans in Washington and served two different times as Director of The Bureau of Engraving and Printing under President Benjamin Harrison and President William McKinley.
