Bipartisan State Societies Back Wilson

By 1917, almost all the state associations of the 19th century had converted to nonpartisan state societies in order to unify the city on the eve of World War I. The Illinois State Society reorganized in February 1917 and voted to fully support President Woodrow Wilson on April 4, just four days before Congress declared war on Germany.
