Julius Rosenwald

Julius Rosenwald

Julius Rosenwald was CEO of Sears-Robuck in the 1930s and he was a generous philanthropist who was responsible for building thousands of grammar school buildings for African-American children in the segregated south. But he was also a hard-headed and practical business and civic leader who was a member of the Secret Six that tried to get federal help to take down Al Capone in 1931.
