Former Postmaster General J. Edward Day, Rep. Ken Gray, and Mrs. Day at Illinois State Society reception. The event featured a premier of a new documentary movie called "Illinois Sings" that was produced by Illinois Bell Telephone Company to celebrate the Illinois Statehood Sesquicentennial of 1968. Illinois entered the union on Dec. 3, 1818 and would celebrate 150 years of statehood in 1968. The color movie was narrated by Rock Island-born actor Eddie Albert and included Eddie and a group singing "The Rock Island Line."
