Illinois has been the birth place and training ground for many Hollywood actors over many years due to institutions such as The Second City and Northwestern University School of Drama but also due to community theater in downstate towns. The man in the pink shirt is actor Fred McMurray who was born and raised in Kankakee and who appeared in more than 100 movies and a successful television series during a career that spanned nearly a half-century, from 1930 to the 1970s. His wife in the cowboy hat was a glamorous actress named June Haver who was born and raised in Rock Island. She is best remembered as a popular alternative to the musical film stars Betty Grable and Alice Faye in several musicals in the 1940s
