2006 - Mayor Richard M. Daley

Mayor Richard M. Daley was honored by the Illinois State Society in 1997 with an "Outstanding Illinoisan Award." The City of Chicago maintains an office in Washington, DC to manage some of the many interests and projects that the city has with Capitol Hill and federal agencies. In 2006, the mayor's representative in Washington, Pete Halpin, was elected to the board of the Illinois State Society. Several ISS board members attended the city-sponsored "Taste of Chicago" on Capitol Hill in the fall of 2006.
