Gurnee Flood in 2002

The Desplaines River flooded towns such as Gurnee in 2002. The Illinois State Society of Washington, DC donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross for flood relief in Illinois in 2002. The society has made similar donations to help Illinois victims of the Chicago Fire in 1871 and the river floods of 1927.
