The map was designed in 2000 by Illinois State Society Historian Rod Ross and ISS member and artist Janice Sterling. It shows and describes 41 sites in downtown Washington, DC that relate to people from Illinois, from the Lincoln Memorial to the Logan Circle Statue. Thousands of the Illinois Heritage Maps have been given out by the Washington offices of Illinois Members of Congress, to schools, and at the National Book Festival on the Mall. The maps are printed by the Chicago-based Rand-McNally Map Company on high-quality stock.
Teachers from Illinois schools and DC area schools may order them for their classes. For a bulk order, call us to discuss. There are 700 maps in a box.
